Professional Experience:

Anna is the founding Director of Orbis Environmental, a specialist environmental and social advisory firm which focuses on incorporating sustainability principles into projects and identifying opportunities to create social and environmental value. Anna is a recent graduate of the Graduate Certificate in Social Impact, at The Centre for Social Impact (UNSW). In 2011, she received the Centre for Social Impact prize for outstanding academic performance in the course Leadership for Social Impact.

She has two decades of experience working in government, utilities and the professional services sector as an environmental and sustainability specialist/strategist. She has worked across many large and often controversial projects particularly in the mining, energy and infrastructure sectors and innovatively incorporates sustainability principles into projects and considers project and company based decisions are strengthened when applying these principles. She has also advised government on impacts associated with key State projects in the mining and infrastructure sectors.

Anna has a proven track record on major projects; managing environmental teams, establishing collaborative relationships including community programs and advising on key strategic issues for proposed developments. Anna's experience is wide ranging, from reviewing the status of the environmental character of the Homebush Bay site prior to its redevelopment as the Sydney Olympic Site in 1991-1992, to preparing environmental impact assessments and environmental management plans for a range of major developments and undertaking due diligence and environmental compliance audits in Japan. Anna also has an excellent understanding of the outcomes sought by government agencies through the Environmental Impact Assessment process, from her review of many projects and reports on behalf of the lead Planning government agency in New South Wales, since 2001.

Anna is passionate about creating opportunities for business to create social and environmental value and developing the next generation of sustainability leaders and responsible business models.

She has a degree in Environmental Biology and postgraduate qualifications in Environmental Engineering and Management and more recently, Social Impact.
